Diana Hollinger

dianahollingerDr. Diana Hollinger is Coordinator of Music Education at San Jose State University where she teaches courses in music education, conducting, supervises student teachers, and conducts the Symphonic Band.

With thirteen years of experience teaching in California's public school system, Dr. Hollinger's research on music education as a means to reach disadvantaged students is the bedrock of CMP's philosophy. Her research on the "El Sistema" model in Venezuela has been instrumental in the development of CMP's operating principles.

Dr. Hollinger spent eight years on the board of the California Band Directors Association and currently serves on the National, State, and Bay Section Board of the National Association for Music Education.

She received her Doctorate of Musical Arts from Arizona State University in music education with a cognate in conducting, and received her Masters of Music in conducting from the University of North Texas.
