Goals and Objectives

Create a long-term community-based program around CSU Campuses that will provide training, support, and resources to the surrounding community schools, administration, teachers, and students.

Make civic engagement central to student learning and the culture of the university, encouraging and supporting increased service amongst CSU students to their community and local schools.

Specifically address three crucial problems: poor programs in low to mid socio-economic schools; high teacher burn-out in those schools; and the lack of longevity of members in the profession in both current and pre-service teachers. This is accomplished by providing resources to existing programs and teachers in need of assistance, and giving professional experience to future music teachers. Putting a monetary investment into the program sends the message that this is an important mission and treats stake-holders like the life-time professionals we hope to prepare.
